I’m so glad you're here, it couldn’t be more of an honour that you’re vibing with my work, my ethos and wanting to know more about the person behind the camera.
My love of photography started with my Grandparents, I have forever been in love with their suitcases of nostalgia, it was a family event to bring them out of the loft and sit around them, marvelling at the stories they told. As a teenager my Grandad, who was in the Army and travelled around the world as a boxer, showed my into his world of photography. He used to develop his own photographs from his old Pentax and Chinon analogue cameras in his own darkroom under the stairs and when I turned 16 he gave me all of his cameras and image making equipment when I went to art school and my love of photography grew even more personal from there. I photographed my first wedding with his Pentax and I still have his cameras which sit on my desk by a photograph of him as a reminder of where it all started.
I have an huge love of travelling and meeting new folk and hearing about their stories. It was always my dream that my job would take me around the world and I’m working towards that goal with destination weddings. Music is life - the louder and the more live the better. I love the outdoors, getting out in to big sky places is my happy place. I particularly love the sea, SUPing, surfing and sea/cold water swimming. I recently adopted 2 kitten boys, they’re called Billy and Albert and they’ll soon be one, they’re absolute chaos - but rest assured I love a doggo too.
I went to art college as a teen, then went off to university to study fine art. Photography has always been a passion of mine but I’ve always loved being creative - I write, draw, paint and print when I have spare time and I still love travelling around galleries. Here’s some of my favourite artists - Francesca Woodman, Artemisia Gentileschi and Carrie Mae Weems - you might be able to see the inspiration in my portraits. I love photographing people, I think a photograph can speak a thousand words and art can give wide insights into other worlds.
